The bird in the center of the piece below is a new branch of thought for designer Melissa McKean of Elle Design. ARTIST INTRO_DEANNA KIENAST:

Deanna Kienast, new artist featured at La Montage and well-known both locally and internationally. Her inspirational figures include the abstract expressionists Motherwell, Rothko, and Picasso. Originally from Chicago, Deanna says her paintings have grown to "Texas Size!" since residing in the state for over twelve years. Each piece she creates has a feeling of energy and movement with outstanding reds, burgundy, deep purple, rich taupe, electric yellow, varying shades of blue and aqua, and her signature token phrase, "gem tones" which describes the deep and mystical combination of her beautiful, darker color palette on selected works.

Wave Two

Turquoise is the color of the year for 2010 according to Pantone, a universal color matching system used by architects, interior, home and fashion designers alike. This calming, yet energizing shade of blue-green has been found on everything decor related from dinnerware to bedding and most recently has begun to make a resurgence in paintings, especially modern art!

La Montage interjects a fresh face into the realm of contemporary art, Julie Farley, also known as "Julz". Her art features bold and vivid colors closely akin to a modern day version of French Impressionist Claude Monet's works and especially, a highly abstract take on Monet's well-known oil series, The Water Lilies. Julie mixes various types of acids and chemicals in a comprehensive layering process which result in dramatic splashes of lucid tints and undertones.

The color scheme of Julie's art takes use of vivid copper, ocean-themed blues, sharp turquoise, varying shades of bronze, fiery coral, melon red, bold lime, and dark green earth tones! Julie keeps a record of each chemical formula she creates for each sample board so that you can mix colors and designs to create a custom piece of art for your home or business.

Each sample board featured in the La Montage showroom can be painted to scale per request of sizing preferences based on your art space needs. The combined result of each original piece entices the mind's eye to create for itself an interpretation which evokes tranquility and repose.

Steve Taff recently created and donated this hand made assemblage to the new City of Southlake Police and Fire Department directly adjacent to Southlake Town Center. The piece is a collection of Fire and Police artifacts uniquely created to a wonderful "one of kind" work of art. Steve Taff is one of the many talented artists represented by La Montage Gallery.
